28th Aug 2023 - Day 1

Meeting at “Food For Life” facility, Kr. Barona street 56 – Riga
Brief introduction of FFL’s activities as an organization. Comparison of the work that different organizations carry out with analysis of similarities and differences to identify possible areas of collaboration.

29th Aug 2023 - Day 2

Workshop: helping Ukraine
During the morning of the 29th of August the project partners from Greece and Italy were able to participate in the food offering process that FFL's organization has been arranging in partnership with Riga Municipality.
Meeting at the partner universities LU headquarters, A. Bulvāris 5 -– Riga
After the workshop we had a debriefing meeting and talked about the differences of the organizations that are similar to FFL and what we could learn and gain from each other.

A lot of points were discussed during our meeting. Together we came to a lot of conclusions such as: FFL does not discriminate and helps everyone in need; It is valuable to have volunteers to help with different parts of the organizations work; rules for each of the organizations are different; with doing non-profit work we have become closer as humans; how much FFL organization helps not only the community that lives in Latvia permanently but also the Ukrainians; during the workshop and the introduction the partners learned about the model of social work organization; the partners also saw that a lot of FFL work is built on trust and the government is involved throughout the whole process.

“What can we use?”
During the conversation of what each of the partners have learned and gained from the activities so far we discussed what each could use from what we experienced: we were having a discussion about the different principles that we could use in our models of work; partners also noticed that they could use the beneficiaries as volunteers and try to achieve more public organizations.

Tour around Old Town of Riga
In the afternoon while going to visit FFL's partners SMRCc the partners were taken on a beautiful tour around Riga Old Town and were told a brief history about the main buildings and their significance.

Meeting at the partner Saint Magdalene Rome Catholic church headquarters -– Riga
In the afternoon Greek and Italian teams were introduced to Saint Magdalene Rome Catholic church and were able to learn how they operate. They were able to see the different buildings and the church of SMRGc and learn about the process of their work and the partnership between FFL and SMRCc. During the visit the partners also got to meet the representative of Caritas and learn about how they help the beneficiaries.

30th Aug 2023 - Day 3

Workshop “Food offering” at FFL's facilities
During the morning of the 30th of August the project partners from Greece and Italy were able to participate in the food offering process in FFL's organization's facilities and see firsthand how the organization operates in the field.

After the workshop Greek and Italian teams were introduced to Riga Social Service facilities and were able to learn how they operate. They were able to see the main building for helping beneficiaries and learn about the process that each individual has to go through and how RSS helps them.

During the afternoon Greek and Italian partners were introduced to Caritas and their facilities and got to know their daily routines.

After the meeting with Caritas we had a debriefing meeting and talked about the differences of the organizations and the similarity to Greek and Italian organization and what we could learn and gain from each other.

31st Sep 2023 - Day 4

Meeting at “Food For Life” facility, Kr. Barona street 56 – Riga and excursion to Ragakāpa  – Jūrmala
During the last day of the visit we used it to debrief and get to know Latvia itself more. After meeting everyone in FFL's facilities all of the partners were driven to Ragakāpa for an excursion around Latvian nature and had a final meeting talking about our experiences and what each of the partners learned, gained and were going to use in the future.
