Full reconstruction of the ventilation system

Thanks to the support of the Boris and Inaras Teterevu Foundation, in November-December 2022, the
"Food of Life" kitchen underwent a full reconstruction of the ventilation system, installing high-quality
steam extractors, motors and ventilation outlet pipes. Now the charity kitchen has the opportunity to
prepare more hot food and cooks no longer who cooks porridge now seven days a week in two
shifts, no longer has to do it in steam bubbles, but in suitable kitchen conditions. Despite all the
disruptions in the supply chains, especially for metal products, inflation in the conditions of the
Ukrainian war and the large amount of construction work, this very important project was able to
be implemented right on 2022 for Christmas, finishing on Christmas Eve.

On September 1, an event was held in memory of the father of mission supporter Praveen Singh,
who left this world a year ago. Mission volunteers and Praveen Singh's family worked together
to prepare and distribute a special feast, adding Indian sweets to the still-warm food.

Today 74 servings of rice milk porridge with raisins and coconut were distributed, which everyone appreciated very much. They wer even asking to take it along with them for kids.
Thanks to wonderful support from Indian community, today was a real Fruit Festival: 2 boxes of apples, 2 boxes of peaches, 2 boxes of nectarine, 1 box of tangerines.
We distributed also box of prunes, which I packed in separate bags yesterday.
Everyone was happy, the kids were really attracted to the fruit, and the parents could not believe that this all variety was available for everyone.
Two boxes of bread - white and black - with pleasure were distributed to everyone.
May 23, 2022 - Ukrainian refugee reception center

Today, on May 23, 65 servings of porridge with raisins were distributed at the Center for the Support Ukrainian Refugees by Food for Life team. Both adults and children enjoyed meal with great appetite.
Thanks to wonderful support of ILCC also donated apples, lemons, bread and different cereals donated were distributed to Ukranian refugees.

On March 31, Jans Karols Reginis from Poland and Marina Rikovska, volunteers of the "Dzīvības ēdiens"
mission, distribute free food, especially vegetables and fruits, as well as basic necessities to seniors
in the Social housing complex in Riga, Imantas 8 line. In these buildings, the Riga city municipality has
allocated more than 300 apartments to single pensioners, for whom it has become much more
difficult to provide daily food at the current food prices.

Volunteers from Italy and Germany, who study in Latvia in the Erasmus+ exchange program, sort
and pack vegetables and fruits in the "Dzīvības ēdiens" crisis kitchen. Needy people come to Latvia for
help, and now also people from Ukraine who have lost their homes. The Municipal Police also needs
to pay more attention to prevent possible problems between people in the current situation with
political, economic and ethnic tension.

Hare Krišna, and here some shots Food for Life mission activity today. We are also part of "Green Latvia" ecology initiative. We are receiving expiring products, expecially vegetables and fruit, from Latvian supermarkets, saving 75% of products, which otherwise would be thrown out, and also with main Riga garbage collection company CleanR is providing us with free BIO containers for separating biologically degradable products, which later are used for fertilizing and producing gas.
